The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has opened a public consultation to gather input from the scientific, business and social communities in the development of the Spanish Deep Tech Strategy, which will establish the guidelines for the development of deep technologies in Spain.

The public consultation, which will remain open until next month, seeks to identify the needs, opportunities and challenges facing Spain in the field of deep technologies, including quantum computing, advanced artificial intelligence, biotechnology and other strategic areas.

This initiative is part of the Spanish Government's commitment to the Spain Digital 2026 Agenda and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which envisage the promotion of disruptive technologies as a driver of economic growth and international competitiveness.

Participants can submit their proposals via the dedicated platform, where they will find a base document setting out the main areas of action proposed. These include strengthening the innovation ecosystem, promoting technology transfer, training specialised talent and creating cutting-edge research infrastructure.

The strategy aims to position Spain as a European leader in deep technologies, leveraging the existing capabilities of universities, research centres and technology companies, and establishing strategic alliances with other countries and international organisations.
